‘Depressed’ youth detained for bid to enter Mumbai int’l airport

Mumbai: Two alert Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials intercepted a youth as he was trying to enter the international airport on Monday.

The youth, Ayub Ansari (25), who identified himself as a terror outfit member, was detained. Ansari told the CISF officials that he was trying to kill a "girl who was due to arrive from abroad" after which he was handed over to the Sahar police.

The police said, Ansari left his Mira Road home around noon and he reached the airport around 2pm. On reaching the airport he bought a gate pass from the airport counter for Rs60. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone VIII) Virendra Mishra confirmed TOI the incident. "Ansari seems to be undergoing mental depression that seems to have made him to do such act. Prima facie he does not seems to be a terror outfit member. He is sent for medical test at JJ Hospital before the decision will be taken action against him," said Mishra.
