Firm to Fire Airport Staff Accused of Gold Smuggling

Kochi: Bird Worldwide Flight Services (BWFS), which supplies ground handling staff at various airports in the country, is considering to terminate a batch of its ground handling staff at the Cochin International Airport, for alleged involvement in gold smuggling.

Talking to ‘Express’, BWFS Kerala chief Dhushiand said, “we will definitively take strong action against the staff, including termination of contract, who were involved in gold smuggling through the domestic terminal of the airport. But, I can’t say whether an entire batch of employees would be terminated based on the smuggling incident, or not.”
