Kozhikode: The Indian National League (INL) has alleged that the crisis at the Calicut International Airport, including its partial shutdown, is part of a high-level conspiracy to hand over its control to the private sector.
A section of corporates having influence in the government and their coterie, involving leaders of political parties, were behind the conspiracy. Some top airport officials were also hand in glove with the corporate lobby, INL State general secretary A.P. Abdul Wahab and State secretary K.P. Ismayil said here.
They said this was evident as the airport had been partially closed even before commencing the preliminary works of the runway and the time chosen for executing the work was during the monsoon. It showed that the airport authorities had not given a specific date when the works would be completed, the INL leaders said.
