Flight cancelled, 150 pilgrims stranded

Chandigarh: Over 150 people headed for Amaranth were left stranded at Chandigarh airport as their flight was cancelled following heavy rains on Friday.

The passengers, who were supposed to leave for Srinagar in the afternoon, had to wait for more than 5 hours at the airport. Passengers arrived at the airport at about 2 pm and their flight was scheduled to leave at 2.30 pm, but was declared cancelled at 4 pm.

While most passengers returned to their homes, around 50 started protesting and said that their hotel bookings were also affected with the decision.
