Non-veg meals for Jain passengers to Rijiju delaying flight for an hour: Check out the mad, mad world of Air India

The series of controversies surrounding Air India never seem to die. The latest in line of fire is Union Minister Kiren Rijiju who delayed an Air India flight from Leh to Delhi for about an hour and three passengers, including a child had to be offloaded to accommodate him and his aide.
According to sources, the aircraft doors were shut for takeoff on 24 June but the flight did not depart at its scheduled time as Rijuju, along ith his PA, had to be onboard.
When he arrived, three passengers were allegedly deboarded to accommodate the minister and his PA, sources said.
That's not all. There's more.
From pilots fighting in the cockpit to finding a lizard in a biryani, Air India has made headlines for all the wrong reasons. And it seems to have done it again when the airline's cabin crew served meat to some Jain pilgrims on a on Leh-Delhi flight returning from Sindhu Darshan festival.
Top sources told Mail Today that the incident occurred on an Air India chartered flight which took off from Leh airport around noon on Saturday when many passengers belonging to the Jain religious community objected to non-vegetarian food packets being served to them for lunch, despite prior selection of a special “Hindu meal”. The national carrier has reportedly suspended the two catering staff members of the basis of complaint filed by passengers.
