Students make their own aircraft

Hyderabad: Buoyed by the innovation bug, the students of mechanical engineering of Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology developed a light weight aircraft that can be parked on a terrace or a parking lot. Made with light material alloys, the 300 kg aircraft uses a 200 cc single cylinder pulsar engine and can fly at a maximum height of 1000 feet.

The single engine portable aircraft can seat an individual and needs just minimum training to fly. The cockpit is exclusively designed by the students of Electronics Engineering Department and the controls of the cockpit are easy to use and makes the aircraft flying feasible in any conditions informed the students.
Students feel that the Rs 2.5 lakh that was used to develop the aircraft could be built at Rs 2 lakh if mass produced.
