Ahmedabad: Delhi-based man and woman were held on Tuesday for travelling on fake passport at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport.
Anil Kumar Lamba and Rajveer Kaur were to travel to Germany via Dubai before they were detained by immigration officials at the international terminal.
The bureau of immigration after questioning the duo for hours filed a complaint with Sardarnagar police. The police has detained the duo and are further investigating the case.
"Anil Lamba lives in Germany and he was taking Rajveer Kaur with him. They both had fake arrival and departure stamps on their passports of Bathinda airport. They were supposed to board Emirates early morning flight to Dubai before they were detained," said V R Patel, senior police inspector, Sardarnagar.
