Vasco: Stating that security has been always the prime concern at all international airports, Coast Guard DIG Manoj Baadkar claimed that Dabolim International Airport, manned by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, has the best security.
He was speaking at the sidelines of a workshop on aviation security and safety organised by the CISF unit at Dabolim airport on Wednesday.
“Aviation security is not the responsibility of only CISF, Airport Authority of India (AAI) or Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), but also of the citizens of this country, especially passengers, cargo movers and organisations, firms or individuals involved in work related to airports,” said Baadkar.
He said, “The international community has made continued efforts to safeguard civil aviation from acts of unlawful interference. However, hijacking of airplanes by terrorists and hostage/homicides related to hijacking incidents have happened frequently.
