New Delhi: The Union law ministry has red-flagged certain clauses in the agreement entered between national carrier Air India and US aerospace giant Boeing over acquisition of Dreamliner 787-800s, saying they are "onerous, restrictive" and "tilted against the interests of the Government of India".
The government is the guarantor in the agreement between Air India, the borrower, and Boeing, the supplier of aircraft.
The law ministry has objected to clauses that deny India the power to invoke arbitration proceedings — a speedy and rather economical mechanism to resolve disputes.
