Bag with jewels left in aircraft

Customs officials are on the lookout for a passenger who had left a bag containing 1.5 kg of gold jewellery inside an aircraft at Chennai airport on Sunday. Officials said the aircraft arrived from Singapore at 9.a.m. and was scheduled to leave for New Delhi at 10.30 a.m. While cleaning the flight, staff noticed the bag under a seat and alerted airport officials. Central Industrial Security Force personnel made a thorough check and declared that it did not contain any hazardous substance. Customs officials noticed the jewellery on opening the bag, estimated reportedly at Rs. 48 lakh.
