Nagpur: A major tragedy was averted at Nagpur airport on Monday when few wild boars crossed through the runway just around the moments when the aircraft carrying President Pranab Mukherjee touched the strip. The major security lapse has highlighted the apathy of concerned agencies roped in to monitor the ground clearance.
The pilot spotted about 8 boars when he was moving the aircraft towards the bay.
It may be mentioned here that onus to look after the security measures lies on the authorities of Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport Nagpur (MIHAN). MIHAN has launched an investigation into the serious lapse.
