'Boeing to raise sourcing 4 times Sept 2014 level'

Boeing is looking to in crease its engagement with India and double sourcing by 2020. Since the launch of the Make in India initiative, it has already doubled its sourcing in less than 12 months, Boeing India president Pratyush Kumar tells TOI. As part of its centenary celebrations, it has also lined up an innovation summit next month, when its chairman James McNerney lands in India.After Abu Dhabi and Washington, Delhi has been selected as the destination and Boeing intends to brainstorm on innovation for aerospace in the second century of aviation, accelerating Make in India and skilling. Excerpts:
You have been talking about Make in India. Has it resulted in some change?
Our sourcing from India has more than doubled since Make in India was launched in September, 2014. By 2020, we are hoping to increase it by four times the level in 2014. We source hardware, software and advanced material. Our competition has announced that cumulative sourcing from India will be $2 billion, we will be ahead of them.
