Let alone int’l flights, domestic operations to take a month

Chandigarh: It would take more than a month to start domestic flights after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the new terminal, an ‘international’ airport, on September 11.
The much-hyped inauguration of the new terminal, work on which started in 2002, would hardly facilitate people as it may take even longer to start international operations at the terminal.
“We don’t have a magic wand to start the operations from September 11, just after the inauguration. The domestic operations would shift to the new terminal from the second week of October, while it is not clear as to when international flights will start,” said Sunil Dutt, the officer in-charge of the new terminal. However, highly placed sources in the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has something else to confirm.
