Mayor asks AI CMD for more national, international flights from Bhopal

Bhopal: Bhopal mayor Alok Sharma has urged the new chairman and managing director (CMD) of Air India Ashwani Lohani to increase the national carrier's flights from Bhopal to major Indian cities and international destinations like Singapore and Dubai.

After a meeting with CMD of Air India in New Delhi on Thursday, Sharma said, "International and national flight connectivity will go a long way in establishing Bhopal as a preferred destination for investment and tourism. Flights for Pune, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata have been requested."

Flights from Bhopal currently connect to six destinations, including Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and Indore.
