Nashik’s non-inclusion on AIP map delays air service at Ozar

Nashik: It's been almost two months since the state government handed over the Ozar airport terminal to the Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL) to promote air service and tourism in Nashik, but the service is yet to take off. Reason — Nashik has not yet been included on the enroute map of the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

A month ago, the Nashik Industries & Manufacturers' Association (NIMA) had urged the DGCA to include the city on its AIP map, but in vain. The industry body has therefore sent fresh reminders to union minister for civil aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju and executive director of DGCA A K Dutta to hurry up the process.

Sources from HAL said, "We have already submitted the proposal to the DGCA for including Nashik on the enroute map of AIP of the DGCA. We are pursuing the issue with the office of the DGCA for the purpose. We will be visiting Delhi to meet the DGCA officials for the purpose in the next three-four days."
