Rs 1 crore worth gold seized from a Sri Lankan native at Kochi airport

Nedumbassery: The Customs Intelligence has detained a passenger from Sri Lanka for smuggling Gold worth about Rs 1 crore at the Cochin International Airport. 3.7 kilos of gold bars were found stashed under the 30F seat of the SpiceJet aircraft that flew in from Dubai on Wednesday morning.

The arrested is known to be Bimal Pereira Ratnavira Pathirane, a Sri Lankan citizen. He has confessed to smuggling in the ten bars of gold.
