T2 will host domestic flights from October 1

Mumbai: The Mumbai Airport's integrated terminal will start hosting Air India's domestic flights from October 1, with the national carrier moving services to Terminal 2 (T2) at Sahar, while GoAir will move its departures to Terminal 1B (Gate 2), presently used by IndiGo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet, from September 25 as a part of phase-wise transition to T2.

Arrivals of GoAir will, however, continue at Terminal 1A. The airport officials said that GoAir backed out of the shifting plan to T2 citing high operational costs. The Wadia-owned airline had shifted complete operations from T1B to T1A after Kingfisher Airlines shut down, making space available. Air India will join Vistara in domestic operations from T2. According to the officials, Jet Airways will shift its domestic operations to T2 by February 2016, while Indigo will continue operations at Terminal 1B.
