Coimbatore Airport gets wi-fi connectivity

Coimbatore: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Quadgen Wireless Solutions have started providing high speed wi-fi connectivity at the Coimbatore International Airport. Secretary for Ministry of Civil Aviation R.N. Choubey launched the facility on Sunday.

Commuters and visitors could access the internet using their laptops and smart phones from anywhere in the airport for the first 30 minutes with download speed of about 5 Mbps. The free access could be availed three times per device (laptop or smart phone) in a month. On completion of free usage, users will be directed to a secured payment gateway to pay for the usage.

Users could buy usage time for 30 minutes for Rs. 30, 60 minutes for Rs. 50, 120 minutes for Rs. 90 and 24 hours for Rs. 150. Recharge coupons for the connectivity would also be soon made available at select outlets at the airport.

About 400 users could make use of the facility simultaneously, BSNL officials said.
