Bengaluru: If this technology can be worked out for commercial use, it will reduce the number of vehicles and air pollution considerably in the city. And the idea/technology did not come from far. It is a team of four students — Team Lakshya, of aerospace engineering department who bagged the best new entry in the graduate category in the most hyped student design competition conducted annually by American Helicopter Society International, held in August 2015.
Their challenge was to design an uninhabited small helicopter system that can deliver packets to customers in urban settings and the system be able to carry stuff weighting up to 10kgs and deliver it to the right customers in an urban area that is almost ten times as big as Bengaluru.
