Patna airport chief faces action for poll posters

Police on Friday registered an FIR against Rajendra Singh Lahauria, director of Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport, Patna, for allowing hoardings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah at the airport in "flagrant violation of norms".
A magistrate rank officer lodged the FIR with Airport police station after a team of Patna district administration officials found a BJP hoarding at the airport on Thursday night. "Lahauria had earlier told the police no poster or banner of any party was on display at the airport.
However, the district administration officials found the hoardings of BJP at the airport. After the enforcement of model code of conduct in the state, officials concerned were asked not to put up hoardings at government buildings, including airports or railway stations," Patna SSP Vikas Vaibhav said, adding that the hoarding at Patna airport was removed on Thursday night. Lahauria said he had no idea about the display of BJP hoarding at the airport.
