The Gannavaram airport near Vijayawada is expected to get a new terminal at a cost of Rs 137 crore and the construction works will begin soon. Announcing this to the media here, Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao said an additional 698 acres of land is required for the airport expansion.
In this connection, he said, the state government has already issued mandatory orders for land pooling.With regards to the Rajahundry airport, Rao said the Airport Authority of India (AAI) is in the process of preparing estimates for the runway expansion works.
