Chittoor: The One Town police have registered cases against Chandrasekhar alias Chintu and others in the murder of Chittoor mayor Katari Anuradha and her husband Katari Mohan. They have also launched a manhunt for Chintu who is a nephew of Katari Mohan. The cops have written letters to the Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad airport authorities requesting them to prevent the accused from flying out of the country.
Meanwhile, the mortal remains of Anuradha and Mohan were consigned to flames at their farm house with full state honors Thursday. District TDP Chief and MLC G Sreenivasulu, MLC Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, MLA D Sathya Prabha and other prominent leaders, Chittoor RDO Kodandarami Reddy and Chittoor Tahsildar Sundaram attended the funeral ceremony.
Chintu, who is a marine engineer, is the son of Katari Mohan’s elder sister. He earlier worked as an engineer in companies located in Chennai and Mumbai. Attempt-to-murder cases had been registered against him along with his uncle Mohan in 2007 in connection with the attacks on former MLA and YSRC leader CK Babu. He had gone underground for quite some time before being arrested by the police.
