There is a lot of buzz in the Indian aviation space especially on the regulatory and industry front. Lot many players have already forayed into this emerging sphere which is a positive sign for the sector and is an economic indicator of how the sector is growing on an upward spiral.
Talking about the aviation space, the industry as a whole has seen a growth of around 10%-15% during the last year and the same trend is noticed this year too, while the charter aviation service providers have seen this trend bit more upbeat as the industry has witnessed a healthy growth of around 20% - 30 % in the last two years.
For further growth, the charter aviation sector still needs a lot many changes and a boost from the Centre for favourable environment to help us grow and maintain the standards. Changes such as relaxation in financial taxes, airport charges, fuel charges and freedom for maintaining our own fleet could go a long way in ensuring that our business flourishes. Due to the hefty taxes implied in our sector, air travel is made costlier by 200-300%, which needs to be controlled and brought down at par with international standards. The new draft suggests a few measures but it’s again a wait and watch situation for all the players involved.
