Madurai: From this weekend, passengers need not travel by bus between the terminal and aircraft as two aerobridges will be commissioned at Madurai airport. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued the safety clearance for operating the new facility.
Though the aerobridge work was completed a few months back, they could not be used for want of safety clearance.
“We received the approval on October 30. We have conveyed the message to all the airlines to make use of the facility for the benefit of passengers,” Airport Director Kuldeep Singh Rishi said.
