Pawan Hans helicopter co-pilot’s body identified

Mumbai: The body recovered from the cockpit of the Pawan Hans Dauphin N3 wreckage has been identified as that of Capt T K Guha. With the entire wreckage, including the black boxes also recovered, a search is now on for the other occupant of the ill-fated helicopter, Capt Eeso Samuel.

The body recovered from the wreckage was taken to Yellow Gate on Tuesday morning. It was identified, a panchnama was carried out and the body was sent for autopsy to JJ hospital. It was then taken to the hospital morgue. It will reach the Pawan Hans complex in Santacruz (W) on Wednesday morning. "The body will be brought to the complex at 11.30am, and it will leave for the funeral after an hour," a Pawan Hans official said. Capt Guha was in the defence forces before he joined Pawan Hans six years ago. "Quite a few personnel from the armed forces are expected to be at his funeral," the official added.

Sanjay Kumar, general manager (western region) Pawan Hans, said both the black boxes, cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder have been handed over to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officials in Mumbai. The boxes will be flown to the DGCA headquarters in Delhi in a few days.
