Dismayed at British Airways making a mistake with a family member's ticket and his baggage being mishandled en route to the US, Tendulkar took to Twitter to vent his frustration.
BA, wishing to assauge an upset customer, responded and apologised to Sachin, asking for him to 'DM' them his details.
Now, asking the 'God of Cricket', as he is known in India, to share his name and details did not go down well on Twitter, and users were quick to vent their disbelief.
Inevitably there were then comparisons between BA and Maria Sharapova, who admitted last year to not having heard of Tendulkar.
