'Still Working on New Civil Aviation Draft'

Bengaluru: The Centre, which introduced the Revised Draft National Civil Aviation Policy, 2015, is working to involve the general population and all the stakeholders, soliciting their opinions, before finalising the policy as it believes there is a lot of scope for improvement.

“We have no illusions about the draft policy on civil aviation. The policy is not perfect. It falls short on several counts,” Rajeev Nayan Choubey, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation of India, said. He was commenting on the Revised Draft National Civil Aviation Policy, 2015 at the ‘2015 US-India Aviation Summit’ here on Wednesday.

He said that the government was seeking inputs on the draft policy from stakeholders and the industry.

A major shortfall, he said was with regards to skill development.
