After 6 hrs of delay, IndiGo flight makes night landing

With over six hours of delay, the inbound flight (IndiGo airlines 6E 605) from Delhi via Kolkata landed at Dimapur airport around 8.45 p.m. on Saturday. Talking to Nagaland Post over phone, a passenger stranded at Kolkata said that the passengers had a harrowing time at Kolkata.
“We were informed that the flight was delayed due to technical problems. However, later we were asked to board the flight and were stuck inside the aircraft for over 2 hours,” the passengers said. The Dimapur bound passengers were then asked to deplane and was informed that the flight may be cancelled. It was only after much hue and cry that the airlines agreed to arrange an alternate flight, the passenger said. “We were aware that the Dimapur airport had night-landing facilities, and the authorities could not dodge the fact that an aeroplane could land”, the passenger said.
Meanwhile, AAI Dimapur airport director, Mughavi Zhimo in a positive note said it was a historic day that a scheduled flight (6E 605) could land at night. In a statement, Zhimo said “Dimapur airport has handled lots of non-scheduled flights at night in the past but this is the first time in the recorded history of Dimapur airport of a scheduled flight making night landing at Dimapur airport”
