Panaji: Trujet, a regional scheduled airline operator based in Hyderabad, has started daily flights to Goa and has partnered with a couple of casinos in Goa to offer seats to casino patrons. The airline plans to commence direct flights from Bengaluru to Goa in the next few months, managing director Umesh V said.
Turbo Megha Airways private limited operates under the brand name Trujet and has a fleet of two ATR-72 500 aircraft and is in the process to engage for more aircraft. "We are getting one more aircraft this month and then two more planes after that. By March we hope to have a fleet strength of five aircraft," Umesh said.
All the aircraft will be ATR-72 500 with 72 seats in an all economy configuration. "Because of our tie-up with the casinos we get at least 25-30 seats every weekend. Our timing is very good. We are selling nearly 100-150 tickets per day," Umesh said.
