This day is observed world-over during the winter season and stresses on the importance of being optimistic in life. The groups crusading for increased air connectivity will create a sense of optimism among the residents wanting to fly to domestic and international destinations from Surat.
'We Want Working Airport at Surat' (WWWAS) and 'Surat Airport Action Committee' (SAAC) have been demanding increased air connectivity fr-om Surat for a long time now. A series of protest programmes, events and short documentary films have been made to sensitize private airline companies to start operations from Surat.
