BELAGAVI: A youth from Kalaburagi was arrested from the Belagavi airport late Tuesday evening after he was allegedly found taking photographs of the area breaching security. Police said the youth had allegedly entered the prohibited zone inside the airport, triggering security alarm. The airport's internal security personnel caught and handed him over to the Marihal police. Police produced him before a court here late in the night and secured his custody till December 9 for interrogation. Police here claimed to have recovered documents from the youth, whose identity they withheld.
Sources said the youth allegedly used his cellphone to take photographs of many key buildings and installations across the state. These include airports, bus terminals, railway stations, Visvesvaraya Technological University and other varsity buildings, multi-storey buildings in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi and Hubballi-Dharwad.
