A conference was held by Air India and Star Alliance on the emergency response training conference at a city hotel in Mumbai recently. The conference highlighted and discussed in detail, the issues involved in a crisis situation and sought ways to evolve an effective mechanism to tide over such crises.
Harpreet A De Singh, Executive Director – Chief of Flight Safety, Corporate Safety and Emergency Response, Air India said, “Air India plays a pivotal role as a national carrier to create awareness and address the issues involved when a disaster strikes. It is important to understand the pre and post safety measures to be undertaken in such scenarios. An Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is important to ensure seamless communication and mitigate the risks involved at all levels during traumas.”
Markus Ruediger, Director - Media Relations, Star Alliance said, “The purpose of this training program is to understand the requirements of a local authority and the resources available at that point in time. Identifying the gaps involved in a communication during crisis and evaluating solutions to fill those gaps is extremely crucial. Cross carrier drills should also be encouraged for a better disaster management.”
