Nagpur: The forest department has finally rescued a barking deer which was being sighted at the airport's area since last three months.
There were reports of deer sighting near the runway and air force station area since Diwali. The department had launched a search operation then but could not trace the deer. After a recent sighting, the department started search operation on December 31.
On January 2, forest staffers caught the deer near the air force station. RFO of Seminary Hills SS Kolankar said the deer, was released into the wild near Kalmeshwar.
Forest officials said the deer must have entered through breaches in the compound.
