Mohali: Though GMADA has completed the construction of the airport road stretch, connecting it to the Mohali - Kharar highway, it may take some time to open it for the public.
The main reason is the non-removal of a pylon of high tension wires. Notably, the stretch has been blocked by stones from both sides (Mohali-Kharar highway and the Industrial Area side).
“The stretch is being used by cyclists and two-wheeler users but it has been blocked for four-wheelers due to the presence of the pylon in the middle of the road,” said a GMADA official. He added that the main reason behind the delay in its removal was that the department concerned did not disconnect power to the high-tension wires.
