Enhanced security at LBS Airport

Varanasi: The district police will increase its role in security of LBS International Airport Babatpur.
Following the fresh alert sounded by the ADG (law and order) in state in view of Pathankot terror attack on Indian Air Force's station the police convened a joint meeting with Varanasi airport director DS Garia and deputy commandant of CISF, providing three tier security system in and around the airport on Wednesday evening.
Following the meeting the SP (Rural) SP Singh told TOI on Thursday, "Several vital issues related to airport security were discussed during the meeting. Following the same discussion it was decided that police would create two posts at entry and exit points of the airport each and post armed guards there for round the clock security. This arrangement would be separate from CISF duties and works of airport police out post."
The old fire tenders may be sent to the airports in Kandla, Bhuj or Diu, Chandanshiyehe added.
