Etihad Airways denies allegations by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Mumbai:  Popular well known Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who was deported back to Abu Dhabi from the Hyderabad airport, had blamed the Etihad Airways for his hassled experience at the airport. Etihad refuted the allegations, saying that Khan was informed about the rules and regulations of entry into the country as a Pakistani citizen. Landing directly at the Hyderabad airport from Abu Dhabi to participate in a musical programme on December 31, was considered as a violation of rule and promptly sent back.
According to the latest revelations, the Etihad Airways today has come out with their version of the story. Gulf carrier has further informed that the singer had been advised by the authorities that he should enter India only through the four metro airports – Mumbai,New Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai based on the visa he possessed.
The Airlines further clarified that it had flew Khan back to Abu Dhabi and henceforth towards NewDelhi with a connecting flight to Hyderabad.
“Etihad Airways clearly states that it is the individual’s responsibility to have appropriate visa and travel documents for travel to any country, but ultimately the right of entry is with the relevant immigration authorities,” it said.
