Nagpur: The board of Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) has cleared allotment of land for Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) in Mihan for its aerospace park. ADAG had earlier sought 289 acre land but later reduced its requirement to 104 acres. The board headed by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has given 104 acres and reserved the remaining 185 acre for the company.
"It will be given the first right to refusal. This means if a company seeks a part of this 185 acres we will first ask ADAG whether it needs the land or not. Other companies will be given the land only if ADAG refuses," a source in MADC said adding that the company would now start demarcation of land for both phases. The source claimed ADAG was expected to start work on the aerospace park later this year.
ADAG headed by Anil Ambani had announced in August 2015 that his company would set up Dhirubhai Ambani Aerospace Park in Mihan and invest Rs 6,500 crore in it. It had sought 289 acre for it. Later it not only reduced its land requirement but a few days ago it announced setting up of a similar venture in Madhya Pradesh. This has taken some sheen off the Nagpur unit.
