Silchar MP demands more Kolkata-bound flights

Silchar: Member of Parliament from Silchar, Susmita Dev met Ashwani Lohani, the Chief Executive Officer of Air India and expressed her concern over the insufficient flights run by the airlines between Silchar and Kolkata, a release issued to the media said.
“A large number of passengers fly to and from Silchar by Air India flights. The flights between Kolkata and Silchar are almost always fully booked, but are not provided on all days of the week. Our region is landlocked and the solitary train service is largely insufficient,” Sumita told the Air India CEO requesting him to increase the number of flights connecting the two cities.
