Thiruvananthapuram: Kollam native was on Friday arrested with 6 ¼ kg gold at Thiruvananthapuram airport. He has been identified as Shanavaz, who had arrived in Emirates flight early morning at 4. He allegedly tried to smuggle the gold out of the airport after hiding it inside electric appliances. He was caught red-handed during customs check at the airport. The gold was hidden inside the iron box in the place of its coil and in Microwave Oven.
