Margao: Asserting that the terms of the final bid for the shortlisted bidders of Mopa green field airport is against the interest of Goa, Generation Next (GenNext) President Durgadas Kamat has claimed it as “a money spinner for the developer.”
He said that the initially envisaged project is very different from what is now going to be developed.
Explaining how the project has become a money spinner, Kamat said, “Firstly, in terms of the total land this has gone up from 1500 acres initially to 2271 acres today. Secondly, 381 acres of land will be given to the developer with a super FAR of 2.5, that is, 38,58,315 square meters of build-able area. Finally, Goa pays Rs 3.6 lakh per day to the developer in case of any delay in the project including in case of a court notice or stay.”
