Mumbai: The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) in Delhi has issued an airport entry pass to an Air India general manager despite the fact that the Mumbai branch of the security regulator denied the pass to him after a whistle-blower brought to light an FIR lodged against him in January 2014.
An airport entry pass allows aviation employees to access different parts of the airport and the associated security concerns make it necessary for applicants to inform the issuing authority - BCAS - about police complaints filed against them. This case highlights that the BCAS does not take the norm on disclosure of information on police cases seriously.
