Seven passengers of Jet Airway's Ahmedabad-Delhi flight claimed on Monday they were not allowed to board the plane despite reaching the check-in counter one hour before the departure. They also claimed that they were denied boarding passes because the Jet officials had overbooked the flight. Ramnath Dube, 39, was one of the passengers supposed to board 5.45 am flight to Delhi from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
He was told that he reported late for check-in and hence could not be accommodated. "I reached the airport just before 5 am and was in the queue for check in. Since the queue was moving slow, I asked the officials to hurry up. They told us the boarding gate was closed," Dubey told Mirror. He was supposed to reach Lucknow via a connecting flight from Delhi to attend a wedding. "I had bought three times more expensive tickets for myself. One of my relatives managed to board the flight but I have been stranded and won't be able to attend the wedding," he rued.
