AAI seeks 525 acre of land free of cost for Greenfield Airport

According to Airport Authority of India (AAI), Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh has to acquire and hand over 525 acre of land free of cost and free of all encumbrance, for the Greenfield Airport at Hollongi.
Further steps will be taken to prepare DPR and seek approval of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Public Investment Board (PIB), Niti Aayog, Cabinet Committee for Economic Affairs (CCEA) after this hurdle is over.
This was informed to Governor of Arunachal Pradesh JP Rajkhowa when he met the Union Minister for Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju in New Delhi on March 15 where they discussed on the overall civil aviation scenario of Arunachal Pradesh, including the Greenfield airport and financing of renovating twenty existing helipads in different parts of State.
The Minister expressed concern that Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh has not even informed the AAI of the acquisition cost of the 525 acres of land, as the AAI would need cost details for preparation of DPR, reports PRO, Raj Bhavan. The last letter was sent to Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh in September 2015. The Union Minister requested the Governor to ask the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh to furnish land details and cost of 525 acre, without any further delay.
The Governor was further informed that Environment Impact Assessment would also have to completed, which itself will require about six to nine months due to the time-consuming statutory requirements.
