Chennai: The bar on visitor entry into Chennai Airport, announced soon after the blast in Brussels airport on March 22, was relaxed on Saturday.
While the security alert was first for a couple of days, it was extended following a series of calls which led to a mid-air diversion of a Jet Airways flight heading to Chennai besides grounding Indigo airlines flight from Chennai to New Delhi.
A total of 16 aircraft across the country were grounded and it led to panic among passengers. Airport authorities are concerned that there has been no breakthrough in detecting the source of hoax calls from the city.
