Close shave for passengers for bird-hit flight at city airport

Passengers of a Delhi-Bhubaneswar Go Air flight had a close shave when the aircraft was hit by a bird during landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here on Thursday morning. The flight landed in emergency conditions and being examined, sources said.

More than 100 passengers and crew on board were safe after the flight made the landing in emergency conditions.

The bird-hit aircraft was examined by engineers and experts to ascertain if there had been any damage due to the incident.

The BPIA along with Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) authorities is carrying out operations in regular intervals to keep the birds at bay.
