Panaji: Children aged 6 to 14 are set to get a guided tour of the naval aviation museum at Bogmalo on March 8, 2016, under The Times of India's Goa For Kids Club initiative. Participants will have to preregister for the event to get a glimpse into the history of the aviation arm of the navy.
The naval aviation museum is unique and a must visit for one and all because it is not just the only naval aviation museum in the country, but also in South East Asia. The naval aviation museum, established on October 12, 1998, has various sections that will interest history buffs and aircraft enthusiasts.
The museum's entry is modelled after the interiors of an aircraft carrier. The star of the indoor gallery is undoubtedly the massive scale model of INS Viraat, the country's oldest aircraft carrier, complete with a ski-jump runway and beautifully-made models of fighter planes and helicopters.
