International flights from March 23, claims Chandumajra

The much-awaited international flights from the newly-constructed Mohali international airport will take off on March 23, the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The airport will also be formally named after the martyr, claimed senior Akali leader and Member of Parliament from the Anandpur Sahib constituency Prem Singh Chandumajra here today. Chandumajra, who raised the airport issue in the Budget session of Parliament today, claimed that he also took up the issue of starting  international flights from here with Minister of State for Culture, Toruism and Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma. “On a demand to start international flights from the local airport on March 23, Sharma gave an assurance that it will be done,” said Chandumajra.
The Akali leader claimed that the airport would be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh on or before the martyrdom day on March 23. “The Haryana Government has given its nod to name the airport after Shaheed Bhagat Singh,” said Chandumajra.
