Trichy: Aiming to become a world class airport with all passenger amenities in place, a proposal has been approved to convert the existing lounge on the ground floor of the AAI corporate headquarters into a restaurant and to shift the old restaurant from the first floor to the ground floor. The airport is now scouting for the right agency to set up a restaurant and a bar inside the lounge.
According to a senior AAI official, the old restaurant on the first floor of the airport had been closed as it was not easliy accessible. To promote the business potential of the restaurant and to cater to the needs of passengers and visitors, a proposal was made to the AAI corporate headquarters to convert the lounge into a restaurant and it was approved.
The AAI had been trying to get an agency to run the executive lounge for more than a year but due to poor business potential the proposal could not be finalised.
