Kochi: The new summer schedule of flight services from Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has come into effect. There has been a considerable increase in the international flight movement from the airport in the summer schedule, when compared to the winter schedule, said CIAL authorities.
The number of weekly services in summer schedule has increased to 1,184 compared to 1,094 in the winter schedule. International services have increased from 590 to 594, while domestic services have gone up from 504 to 590.
There would be some new fight movements to new destinations from this season. Thai Air Asia will commence its operations from May 17 with one daily direct flight to / from Bangkok. Vistara Airlines will commence operations from April 14 with one daily flight to Delhi via Mumbai. Air Pegasus is planning to operate two daily flights to / from Bengaluru and one daily flight to/from Chennai in Summer Schedule 2016.
