Kochi: : In view of the strike called by a section of ground handling staff on Monday, Khullar Hospitality Pvt Ltd (KHPL), the contractor of the Cochin International Airport, has sent a five-point request to Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) to ensure security and avoid harassment to passengers.
While terming the strike as illegal, KHPL has said that all efforts would be made to ensure that work goes unhindered and there is no dent to the reputation of CIAL and the airport.
In a letter sent to the Airport Director, KHPL has requested CIAL to provide help to ensure that willing employees are allowed to enter the airport to avoid any delay, disruption of inconvenience to passengers, informed Karan Diwan, general manager, KHPL.
“Inform and make available police personnel at the entry to the airport to ensure that willing workers are not stopped, forced or blocked from reporting for duty. This arrangement will also ensure that there is free flow of passengers into and out of the airport,” said the letter.
